Agnikarma\ Therapeutic Cautery
Agnikarma : A specialized technique useful in many conditions. It is performed in Two ways
1. Direct: that is directly burning the diseased tissue eg in Corn, Wart. Once we burn the tissues chances of recurrence is minimal. Second is Indirect method where, area is burned away from the disease part eg in case of joint pain we are burning the skin on the point of maximum tenderness but we are not burning the diseased tissues like corn.Just superficially it is done. This is very useful in Back ache, Tennis elbow, Heel pain, Knee joint pain etc. This is similar to Moxibustion of acupuncture. Agnikarma Shalaka or Skin cautery machine is used for the purpose.
